How a value investor reads this list

  • A stock held by many great investors is a starting point for research — not a buy signal. Consensus can be crowded, and by the time a 13F is public the price may have moved.
  • 13F filings are disclosed up to 45 days after quarter-end and only show U.S. long equity positions — no shorts, no cash, no foreign listings. Treat them as a lagging clue, not a live portfolio.
  • The most useful question is not "who owns it" but "why" — does the combined thesis rest on a durable moat and a margin of safety, or on the same crowded narrative?
